About this project
KY 536 runs east–west across northern Kentucky, and for years it has carried far more traffic than a two-lane rural road was built to handle. The improvement project reconstructs the corridor through Boone and Kenton Counties — straightening curves, flattening hills, widening the roadway, and rebuilding the intersections along the way.
The drawings in the viewer above are conceptual plan sheets prepared for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. They are drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 400 feet, so they show the general shape and position of the proposed roadway rather than construction-level detail. Eight sheets have been stitched together here into one continuous image so you can pan the length of the corridor without jumping between pages.
Work on the corridor is already visible on the ground. Right-of-way acquisition is complete, and many of the homes and other structures that stood in the path of the new alignment have since been removed.
